  Annual Shrimp Feast
  Annual Shrimp Feast
On May 14, Our Kiwanis Club of Chesapeake held its' 30th Annual Shrimp Feast Fundraiser from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM, the Opening Day of the Chesapeake Jubilee.  Utilizing facilities at the Jubilee Site at Chesapeake City Park on Greenbrier Parkway, we served up delicious all-you-can-eat spiced shrimp, pork barbecue, baked beans, hushpuppies, coleslaw, sodas, water, beer, and ice cream to hungry Jubilee crowds .  Our Band, "Tailgate Down", provided a festive background playing a wide variety of pop and country tunes.  Key Club Members from Indian River, Oscar Smith, Great Bridge, and Deep Creek High Schools did a fantastic job helping with the Food and Beverage Service,  and restoring the site following the dinner.  Proceeds from this Fundraising Event go towards supporting local community assistance programs, High School Key Clubs, Middle School Builder's Club, and Key Club Member College Scholarships.  Our Club Members thoroughly enjoyed working together with our Key Club Members towards the success of this most worthy endeavor.  Local TV Channel 13 WVEC Reporter Joe Flannigan and a film crew profiled our Shrimp Feast live from our Site, to viewers throughout the Hampton Roads Area that afternoon.
